Women's Ministry

Reverend Phyllis Daniels-Alston has been preaching the gospel for over 20 years. The Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop L. E. Best, licensed her in the mid 80’s. Reverend Alston was ordained March 15, 2009 under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Johnston of My Father’s House Christian Church. At that time, Reverend Alston was placed over the work of the Women’s Ministry.

Reverend Alston is a graduate of New Hanover High School, Wilmington NC. She attended Cape Fear Community College and UNC-Wilmington (receiving the degree in Business Administration) and a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She attended Christian Outreach Bible Institute, receiving a Bachelors degree in Theology. She continues to pursue her Masters degree in Theology.

Reverend Alston was instrumental in helping form the Agape Outreach Ministries Church in Delco, N.C.; and there she served as Associate Minister, main secretary, and youth leader, all under the direction of Pastor Ida Graham.

Reverend Alston is a guiding force in her community, Riegelwood N.C. She has taught Sunday school, Bible study and she is a dynamic praise and worship leader.

She is married to Elder Tom Alston and together they boast about their eight children and nine grandchildren.

Reverend Alston refers to herself as “A humble servant who loves the Lord” and this is evidence in her untiring life with Christ. One of her favorite sayings is “God is not going to let you bless Him, more than He blesses you” “He will have the upper hand every time”

On a personal note: Women hold on to God, bless Him and give Him the glory that is due His Name. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Love him more than life itself. For a time of a refreshing is here and truly “It is your Time”

Primary Focus: To provide a way for women to connect with Jesus Christ in a personal life changing relationship.

Basic Goal: Gather women together for the purpose of sharing the life of Christ with them and through them. As we gather together in fellowship and friendship, keeping the unity of the spirit realizing that we are one.

Purpose: To stir up the gift of God according to Ephesians 4:8. So we are going to stir up the gift of God that these gifts may lead others to Christ.

Vision: Our Focus for 2010 as given to us by the Pastor “Go” according to Matthew 28:19. The Women’s Ministry will “Go and compel the lost to come to Jesus Christ''. We will do this through witnessing, feeding the hungry, clothes closet, and any other method that the Lord may choose to use us. We will strive together in unity and excellence as we “Go” forth in the will of the Lord.

Mission: To make disciples.

Conclusion: Women’s Ministries can provide a place for women to grow, develop their strengths and make lasting relationships. A healthy Women’s Ministry creates a climate for church growth that can affect the entire congregation.
