Youth Ministry ''LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME UNTO ME, AND DO NOT HINDER THEM FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BELONGS TO SUCH AS THESE.'' (MATTHEW 19:14 NIV) Our goal in Youth Ministry is to diligently teach the youth the righteous way of life by using Jesus as the ultimate mentor. The youth will always have questions. When they ask the question, is God necessary? We can tell them that it is only by the Grace of God that they are here and enjoying life. I urge one and all to be a vessel of honor for the youth to follow. Pray for our children, be like Job rise up early in the morning and pray for our youth, for Job said, “It may be that my sons (children) have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. (Job 1:5) We welcome all youth up to age eighteen to come and join our church family. The children are always welcome because Jesus said: “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” [Mk 9:37 NIV] We have to live a holy life to gain the honor of our children. For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curse father or mother, let him die the death” No one cherishes the death of any young one so pray with me that our youth will be blessed. With the help of God My Father’s House Youth Ministry will continue to win the hearts, minds, and souls of the youth by building a firm Christian foundation for them to follow throughout life by keeping them anchored to the rock JESUS CHRIST. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.(Proverbs 22:6) Our youth is actively involved in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ through various activities including: Sunday School: Sundays at 9:50 AM Youth Church: Sundays at 11:00 AM Bible Study: Tuesdays at 7:00 PM Elder Anthony Springer Youth Pastor I was born in Barbados a long, long time ago to a mother who was a devoted Christian. I had many examples to follow being the youngest in the family with four sisters and three brothers, but my mother; Evangelist Springer was my spiritual leader. When I was about thirteen I witnessed the miraculous work of God Through my mother’s prophecy. This sealed my faith in God even though I did not fully understand it until I was fifteen years old when I got saved. I can still remember the time, it was in a small church with no electricity or running water, it had an outhouse but God was in-house that night when he saved my soul. Although I did not remain faithful from that day God was faithful to me never allowing me to stray too far from him. I am married to my beautiful wife and help mate Christine; we have four children Justina, June Anthony Jr., Zacharias and three grandchildren Taliyah, Tyler and Tristin. I was ordained a Minister at House of Deliverance in Richlands, NC about three years after returning from Desert Storm. After 25 years, I retired from the United States Marine Corps and I move back to Boston. While in Boston, I served as a Minister and Tribal leader at The Greater Zion Church of God In Christ. I returned to North Carolina in 2003 and in my quest to find a church and to carry on God’s will, I was lead to My Father’s House Christian Church by my wife and God. I am now serving in the Youth Ministry. God had prepared me for this ministry through my wife’s 15 years as a day care provider where I interacted with the kids, then for 20 out of my 25 years in the military I was in charge of older teenagers. This was followed by three years as a Cable and Direct TV installer, where I entered many homes observing the habitat of the children. God had one more course of training for me and that was working for almost two years as a Corrections Officer in the prison in Boston. God showed me the youth at its best as young children and in the military, and he showed me them at their worst while they were in prison. Now God has put me in a position to use what I have learned and that is to: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.(Proverbs 22:6) |
